employU is a Nonprofit Employment Service contracted with The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation assisting people with disabilities prepare for, become and retain employment. We are seeking a Job Coach to work with our clients
ob Description-
The Employment Specialist is responsible to comprise and carry out a plan for each assigned
customer in efforts to find employment that fits their job goal and interests and is in a
reasonable distance from their home. The customer’s plan is to include actions to aid in the
retention of the position for a designated period of time. The ES shall follow company
instruction and provide a level of service to its customers that meet and exceeds the standards
of excellence.

Essential Functions.
1. Employment Specialist will search for job leads for their assigned customers through methods such as
the internet to browse job boards, social media and company websites. ES will network with hiring
managers, call on businesses, attend job fairs and utilize resources to find job opportunities.
2. ES is responsible for assisting their assigned customers with applications and assessments as needed.
3. Employment Specialist will help the customer prepare for interviews, instruct them on how to write a
resume and how to fill out and follow up on job applications. Employment Specialist will also assist
their assigned customers when they are granted an interview in efforts to give them the best chance
of success.
4. The Employment Specialist will maintain contact with their assigned customers on a regular basis
prior to placement. Contact may be done via phone call, text, in person or email. After each contact
they will utilize the company web-based database program to leave documentation. The ES will
communicate with each customer a minimum of 1 contact per week. ES will meet with customer in
person no less than 1 time per month.
5. The Employment Specialist will assist its customers in following up on applications that have been
submitted by or for the assigned client within a reasonable time frame and document in the employU
database in the appropriate areas. This process may include using their own vehicle to pick up and
transport the customer to the business. This may also be necessary when the customer has an
6. Once an assigned customer starts employment the Employment Specialist is responsible to ensure all
efforts are made to assist the customer through the training by providing coaching services and
communicating with them until the case is no longer open. ES will also communicate with the
Employer and make all efforts to solve any issues that may come up to avoid termination of
employment for the customer.
7. The ES will maintain regular communication with each of the counselors that are assigned to that ES’
designated customers to keep them informed of how the process has been going.

Supervisory Responsibility
The Employment Specialist may have multiple Job Coaches (JC) assisting them with the activities of their
position. They may also have a marketer and administrative assistance. The ES is also to guide the JC in
deciding which activities to perform, when to perform them and what is the most efficient method to
carry each of them out. ES is to monitor the number of hours the JC works and ensure they are
documenting their time and activity appropriately.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment and in the field at various business locations. The
role routinely uses office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, email and a variety of
computer programs.

Physical Demands
The employee frequently is required to drive for long periods of time, stand, walk, reach with hands and
arms, lift up to 40 lbs., participate in job coaching as needed and travel.
Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30
p.m. This position may require some evening and weekend hours depending on demand.

This position requires regular intrastate travel.

· Current Florida driver’s licenses, vehicle registrations and proof of vehicle insurance with
$50,000/$100,000 minimum coverage for all employees transporting VR clients.

· Master’s Degree or Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university and written
documentation (resume) of one year of successful experience and employment in counseling,
job placement, job coaching or public vocational rehabilitation program; OR,
· A copy of an Associates in Arts Degree from an accredited college or university and written
documentation (resume) of two years of successful experience and employment in counseling,
job placement, job coaching or public vocational rehabilitation program; OR,
· Written documentation (resume) of four years of successful experience and employment in
counseling, job placement, job coaching or public vocational rehabilitation program.

**Best Practices in Supported Employment and Introduction to Social Security Work Incentives through the TRN are required for this position upon hire or within 90 days of hire.
